Ultimate Backyard Warrior (UBW) is a ninja warrior/obstacle course racing (OCR)/cross-training gym with both indoor and outdoor obstacles, rock walls, a cross-training space, and an air-conditioned cardio/weight training space. We have two side-by-side “Team Ninja Warrior” style outdoor courses. UBW competitions bring some of the best competitors from all over the country. We offer classes for adults and children to aid in the progression from novice to competitor. Whether your goal is to become a Ninja competitor, train for obstacle course races like mud runs, or just need a fun workout to replace your repetitive gym routine, UBW has what you need at a price you can afford.
UBW began in the backyard of Mike Cook’s home. He built the largest outdoor ninja course in the world, which led him to bring his passion for building obstacles into a full-time gym in Rocky Mount, NC.Not only does Mike promote physical well-being through his gym, it has become a part of his ongoing testimony about how he was able to pull himself up by the bootstraps with the help of Christ. This journey ultimately landed Mike on the hit series American Ninja Warriors, and others from the show have ventured to conquer the obstacles in his back yard and now at the UBW gym. Through this gym, Mike has been able to witness to others and point them to Christ.
